Can you tell when another is lying? Dr. Paul Ekman, noted psychologist, believes you can with the proper training. In fact, Dr. Ekman says “The truth is written all over your face.”  Dr. Ekman is a pioneer in the study of emotions and their relationship to facial expressions. A widely published author, Dr. Ekman developed the Facial Action Coding System (FACS) to classify every conceivable human facial expression. Dr. Paul EkmanPaul Ekman was an undergraduate during the Hutchins era at the College of the University of Chicago 1949-1952, then finished a major in psychology at NYU, and received his Ph.D. in psychology from Adelphi University in 1958. He has written, co-authored or edited 15 books, most recently EMOTIONAL AWARENESS, co-authored with the Dalai Lama. Ekman received honorary degrees from the University of Chicago and Geneva University, was named one of the 100 most influential psychologists of the 20th century by the American Psychological Association, and was selected by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people of 2009. In addition to consulting with government, researching deadly intent, developing and marketing online training on deception, he is deeply involved in the TV program Lie To Me which is based on his research on deception.  Interested in facial recognition instruction? Gene Cella

Gene CellaFollowing his US Marine Corp service and his 15 years in law enforcement, Gene Cella graduated from the LA Polygraph Institute to become a Polygraphist; also referred to as a Forensic Psychophysiologist. He is the owner/director of Justice Investigations and Polygraphs Plus and has conducted over 5000 polygraph examinations. He has an AA Degree in Police Science and a Bachelors in Criminology with a minor in Psychology.

He is a member of the American Polygraph Association (APA), the California Association of Polygraph Examiners, (CAPE), holds a college level Life Time Vocational Teachers Credential and has been a consultant for Court TV. A recipient of a number of awards and commendations, Cella is also an active member of the California Association of Licensed Investigators (CALI), American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and serves on the Fullerton, CA College Advisory Board.
